Farewell Message
Dear Parents and Students,
I came to KHS four years ago nervous and weary. I had been at three schools in three years thanks to the teacher lay offs as a result of the Great Recession. I was faced again with the task to establish my reputation, build a rapport with staff and students and unpack some well worn boxes. The last time I was that nervous about starting a new school was the first day of my freshmen year at QHHS.
Thankfully the 2010-2011 school year we saw the last of mass lay off notices and I could finally relax and feel secure about my future. In last four years I have over 800 students. built new relationships and made some dear friends.
In January I gave birth to my second daughter and in an instant I made a heart decision. I knew I needed to be home, with my girls, while they were so young. My precocious 2 year old needed more consistency and guidance and I know I missed moments in her first two years I could never get back. After years of fighting to keep a position, I was now letting it go. From my teacher's desk I have seen the importance of active and engaged parenting. I have had the privilege of teaching so many well behaved and polite
students and the credit goes to their parents. Children are a reflection of their parents.
Thank you for all of your support and allowing me to be an influence on your precious children. I will miss seeing my sophomores grow into seniors and graduate. I am honored to have had some part their future success.
I hate goodbyes, so for now I will say see you next time.
God Bless,
Mrs. Parsons
